Maternal plasma metabolomic profiling of periparturient dairy cows supplemented with high-dose chromium propionate before calving
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This study contains untargeted LC-MS/MS metabolomic profiles of maternal plasma collected on the day of calving from Holstein dairy cows in the control and high-dose chromium propionate supplementation groups. Cows received either a basal total mixed ration without supplemental chromium propionate or the same ration supplemented with high-dose chromium propionate from 21 days before expected calving until parturition. Plasma samples were collected at calving and analyzed to characterize maternal metabolic responses associated with prepartum chromium propionate supplementation during the periparturient period.
INSTRUMENT(S): Liquid Chromatography MS - negative - reverse-phase, Liquid Chromatography MS - positive - reverse-phase
