Beinaglutide modulates abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue microenvironment and lipid metabolism in diet-induced obese mice: a multi-omics analysis
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Beinaglutide (BN), a recombinant human glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist, exhibits beneficial effects on obesity and metabolic disorders; however, its influence on obesity-related adipose tissue alterations and associated molecular changes remains unclear. In this study, C57BL/6J mice underwent a high-fat diet (HFD) for 12 weeks to induce obesity, followed by a 7-week treatment with BN. Evaluations of metabolic phenotypes, serum biochemical parameters, adipose tissue morphology, and multi-omics profiles of abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue were conducted through transcriptomic, proteomic, and untargeted metabolomic analyses. BN treatment resulted in reduced body weight gain, improved glucose tolerance, partial amelioration of elevated liver enzyme levels, decreased weights of selected adipose depots, and attenuation of HFD-induced adipocyte hypertrophy.
