A Microbial Perspective on Marine-Terrestrial Linkages
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Microbial communities were sampled across a land-sea continuum to investigate connectivity between terrestrial and aquatic environments in a coastal temperate rainforest system of British Columbia. Amplicon sequencing using three-domain primers targeting the V6-V8 region of the SSU rRNA gene was used to assess microbial diversity along this continuum in a region where terrestrial subsidies represent an important source of carbon and nutrients the marine system.
