Role of mitofusins in oocyte development
Modulating mitofusins to control mitochondrial function and signaling
we applied a proximity tagging system PUP-IT to PEX ubiquitin ligase to identify their proximal proteins. Surprisingly, we identified many mitochondrial proteins in the proximity of peroxisomes. We further validated the interaction between PEX and mitofusins (MFNs).

Purpose: Mitofusin regulate the fusion of the outer mitochondrial membrane. MASM7 is an activator of mitofusins, which promotes mitochondrial fusion. Whereas, MFI8 is an inhibitor of mitofusins, which inhibits mitochondrial fusion, and subsequently promotes mitochondrial fission. The goal of this st...

We performed RNA sequencing (RNAseq) analysis to determine the effect of single (Mfn1-/- or Mfn2-/-) and double (Mfn1-/- and Mfn2-/-; Mfn1&2-/-) knockouts of mitofusins on oocyte gene expression profile. We found that in comparison with the wild-type (WT) control, 161 (Mfn1-/-), 538 (Mfn2-/-) and 47...
