The presence of melanopsin (OPN4) has been shown in cultured murine melanocytes and was associated with ultraviolet A radiation (UVA) reception. We demonstrated the protective role of OPN4 in skin physiology and the increased UVA-induced damage in its absence using proteomics analysis.

Seven novel and potent Raf small molecule kinase inhibitors were evaluated in 7-day oral repeat-dose rat toxicity studies. All compounds tested induced hyperplasia in multiple tissues. Microarrays were used to investigate transciptional changes associated by treatment with a single compound to gain ...

Analysis of gene expression in skin of rats subjected to electron irradiation and the effect of vitamin A supplements.
ORGANISM(S): Rattus norvegicus
Ultraviolet-B (UVB) irradiation of the skin was performed on rat (skin and DRG) and human (skin) tissue. The resulting changes in gene expression were then profiled by using RNA-seq to compare gene expression between irradiated and non-irradiated samples Poly(A) selected RNA was sequenced for 5 irra...

The skin expansion technique is widely applied in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeries. Skin expansion induces skin growth and is an ideal approach for large-scale skin deformity reconstruction. However, the capacity for skin expansion is limited and searching for ways to enhance the expansion effic...

This program aims at identifying a skin gene signature associated with inflammation pain in rat CGN model The profiling data was analyzed by identifying genes that were up- and down-regulated at selected p value and fold change in the skin of rats treated with CGN (to induce pain) compared to the co...
ORGANISM(S): Rattus norvegicus
This study aimed to quantify the regulation of transcripts in the hairy skin of the back of adult rats in the condition of loss of sensory and autonomic (sympathetic) innervation (i.e., denervated). Denervated skin has reduced wound healing capacity, reduced proliferation of epidermal progenitor cel...

In this experiment, a rat model of full-thickness skin resection was used to observe the effect of antler protein extract ( PAE ) on wound healing, and its pharmacodynamic effect on wound healing and possible regulatory mechanism were further analyzed. Rats were randomly divided into PAE group and N...

To test the hypothesis that different mechanisms and/or factors might be involved in physiological pigmentary responses of the skin to different types of UV, we used whole human genome microarrays and immunohistochemical analyses to characterize human skin in situ to examine how melanocyte-specific ...

The goal was to find genes which are differentially expressed between the naked mole-rat (Heterocephalus glaber) and the wild-type mice liver tissue. The genes which are most differentially expressed may provide a clue for the remarkable differences between naked mole-rat and mouse in terms of longe...
