<i>N</i> <sup>6</sup>-methyladenosine (m<sup>6</sup>A) is the most prevalent messenger RNA modification in eukaryotes and an important posttranscriptional regulator of gene expression. However, the biological roles of m<sup>6</sup>A in most insects remain largely unknown.
