Chilling Accumulation Shapes Transcriptomic Responses to Warming Exposure During Grapevine Deacclimation
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Dormancy transitions in grapevine (Vitis vinifera) buds during winter are regulated by chilling accumulation and temperature cues, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. We conducted time-series RNA-seq on ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ buds collected across a chilling gradient and exposed to warm temperatures. Using weighted gene co-expression network analysis, empirical modeling, and a novel approach to estimate molecular temperature, we identified distinct gene expression patterns responsive to temperature alone, chilling alone, and their interaction.
