Major foodborne bacterial pathogens, such as <i>Campylobacter jejuni</i>, have devised complex strategies to establish and foster intestinal infections. For more than two decades, researchers have used immortalized cell lines derived from human intestinal tissue to dissect <i>C. jejuni</i>-host cell interactions.
