Project description:The Danlou Tablets (DLT), a patented medicine, has been widely used to treat coronary heart disease (CHD) in China for several decades. Though the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidation effect has been preliminarily proposed as one of the potential mechanisms of DLT for CHD treatment, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. We use microarray to explain the genome changes of patients with coronary heart disease and patients with coronary heart disease after treatment with Danlou tablets, so as to explore the potential mechanism of treating diseases with traditional Chinese medicine.
Project description:To identify biomarkers regulated by traditional Chinese medicine Astragalus membranaceus Fischer Bge. var. mongolicus Bge. Hsiao in colorectal cancer. We have identified several differentially expressed genes including microRNAs using Affymetrix HTA-2.0 array. In this dataset, we include the expression data obtained from colon cancer cell line HCT116 grafted into nude mice. The mice was treated either water or traditional Chinese medicine Astragalus membranaceus for 28 days. These data are used to obtain 1425 genes that are differentially expressed in response to Astragalus membranaceus treatment.
Project description:Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) not only impacts chemotherapy regimens but also causes intolerable and long-lasting effects on cancer patients. Currently, duloxetine is the only drug used to treat CIPN. However, the clinical use of this drug still faces several challenges. Therefore, we focused on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to find an effective and safe alternative medicine. Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction (HGWD) is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been clinically used for treating nerve pain for thousands of years. This study aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effect of HGWD on cisplatin-induced injury in PC12 cells and to elucidate its potential mechanism of action.
Project description:The traditional Chinese medicine Jinfukang (JFK) has been shown as a valuable drug for the non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Although clinically effective, the underlining mechanism remains unclear. Here, we performed RNA-seq assays for study the antitumor mechanisms of JFK ethanol extract on lung cancer cell line A549.
Project description:Potentilla indica and Melastoma dodecandrum lour are medicinal herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. We sampled the plants from Nanyang Technological University's herb garden for transcriptomics analysis.
