Formins (FH2 proteins) are a family of evolutionarily conserved proteins involved in many aspects of cytoskeletal organization and signalling, shown in some cases to participate in transcriptional regulation in metazoans. However, nothing is known about their possible involvement in the regulation o...

FHOD formin and SRF promote striated muscle development through separate pathways in C. elegans
CDK1-formin signal confers microvillar effacement by an attaching and effacing (A/E) pathogen
We show that striated muscle-expressed genes affected by reduction in UNC-120/SRF activity are not similarly affected by absence of the FHOD-1 formin. This suggests FHOD-1 does not affect striated muscle development via promotion of UNC-120/SRF-dependent transcription.

Apicomplexan parasites rely on actin-based motility for host cell invasion and for their dissemination. Although previous studies implicate formin 1 (FRM1) in governing this process in Toxoplasma, the mechanisms that position it at the cell apex and regulate its activity during the transition from i...

Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) induces the attachment and effacement of intestinal microvilli. While the molecular mechanisms contributed to the attachment of EHEC have been thoroughly studied, the underlying mechanisms for the effacement of intestinal microvilli induced by EHEC remained ...
