Atlantic Walrus Sexing for Ontogeny
Camino del Molino sexing
This project performs proteomic analysis of tooth enamels of archaeofaunal remains from Kilshane, Ireland (ca. 3600 BCE) for sexing using amelogenin.

We undertook the sexing of mammoth remains (n=21) from the russian site of Kostenki based on enamel protein characterisation. We use amelogenin, a protein that is expressed differently by amelogenin X and Y, depending on the coding gene it originates from (AMELX or AMELY).
ORGANISM(S): Mammuthus primigenius
