The β<sub>2</sub>-adrenergic receptor (β<sub>2</sub>AR), a prototypic G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR), is a powerful driver of bronchorelaxation, but the effectiveness of β-agonist drugs in asthma is limited by desensitization and tachyphylaxis.
