We optimised a sample preparation and analysis workflow for proteomic analysis of human alveolar bone. We compared the peptides and proteins extracted from bone by different buffers, then used a multi-enzyme, multi-search engine approach to increase proteome coverage.

Identification of DNA copy number imbalances in 22 spontaneous canine osteosarcoma cases using array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) analysis

We describe circadian clock-dependent changes in ribosome composition in Neurospora crassa depending on cell type, stress, or developmental state. Mass spectrometry of ribosomes isolated at different circadian times identified six ribosomal proteins and one ribosome-associated protein with clock-con...

The budding yeast genome is marked by 250-350 origins of DNA replication. These origins are bound by the origin recognition complex (ORC) throughout the cell cycle. ORC has known DNA binding sequence preferences which, though necessary for binding, are not sufficient to fully specify a genomic locus...

Genome-wide MeDIP-Sequencing was carried out on a total of 50 monozygotic twin pairs from the UK and Australia that are discordant for depression. We show that major depressive disorder is associated with significant hypermethylation within the coding region of ZBTB20, and is replicated in an indepe...

We measured TNFα activity on the transcriptional level by identifying TNFα-inducible genes in human blood monocyte-derived macrophages (MDM). On the basis that TNFα does not act in isolation, we used bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) as a prototypic model of a stimulus to invoke secretion of a w...

Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are responsible for limiting autoimmunity and chronic inflammation. Foxp3 is a transcription factor that acts as a master regulator of Treg development and function. A serendipitous observation led to the realization that a well-characterized Foxp3gfp reporter mouse, whic...
