We report a genome-wide association study of IgA nephropathy, a main cause of kidney failure. All subjects were of Chinese Han ancestry, of which 1,194 were cases and 902 controls. Genomic DNA samples extracted from whole blood were genotyped on the Illumina 610 Quad platform.

T-regulatory (Treg) cells are important to immune homeostasis, and Treg cell deficiency or dysfunction leads to autoimmune disease. An histone/protein acetyltransferase (HAT), p300, was recently found important for Treg function and stability, but further insights into the mechanisms by which p300 o...

Biofilm formation is considered the most important factor involved in pathogenicity of Staphylococcus epidermidis. We investigated the role of two-component signal transduction system (TCS) srrAB, which was up-regulated under micro-aerobic condition, in the growth and biofilm formation of S. epidermi...

Autophagy is a constitutive process of lysosomal degradation required for maintaining the homeostasis of large molecular complexes and organelles in neurons. Here we reported a systemic investigation of neuronal autophagy targets through integrated proteomics and functional analysis. Proteomic profi...

Chicken feathers constitute a major waste in poultry processing due to their resistance to degradation. Microbial degradation offers a promising solution for enhancing the utilization of feather waste. However, the metabolic mechanisms underlying microbial feather degradation remain poorly unders...

Sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (S-AKI) is the most common complication in hospitalized and critically ill patients, highlighted by a rapid decline of kidney function occurring a few hours or days after sepsis onset. Systemic inflammation elicited by microbial infections is believed to lead to ki...

Osteosarcoma (OS), a malignant bone tumor with limited treatment options, exhibits low sensitivity to immune checkpoint therapy (ICT). Through genomics and transcriptomics analyses, we have identified a subgroup of OS with methylthioadenosine phosphorylase (MTAP) deletion, which contributes to ICT r...
