We used machine learning (ML) to improve metabolite identification confidence in GC-MS data. This project was funded by PNNL's M/Q initiative. All data was collected on an Agilent GC 7890A coupled with a single quadrupole MSD 5975C. Metabolites were derivatized prior to analysis.

Studying a unique case of metastatic melanoma, we observed that cell lines derived from metachronous metastases arising over a decade retained a central core of genetic stability in spite of divergent phenotypes. In the present study we expanded our previous observations comparing these autologous c...

The progesterone receptor isoforms PRA and PRB are implicated in breast cancer development and metastasis. Expression ratio PRA/PRB is imbalanced in such cancers under the influence of MAPK-dependent extracellular stimuli that strongly impact progesterone-responsiveM- transcriptional regulation. In...

It is generally accepted that human cancers derive from a mutated single cell. However, the genetic steps characterizing various stages of progression remain unclear. Studying a unique case of metastatic melanoma, we observed that cell lines derived from metachronous metastases arising over a decade...

The fucose-binding Aleuria aurantia lectin (AAL) labels punctiform structures in proximity to the nuclei of Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites. We have utilized AAL-lectin affinity purification in conjunction with LC MS/MS to identify a set of proteins modified with fucose on serines and threonines

This study was undertaken with two major goals in mind: i) To investigate the potential for interspecies hydrogen transfer between a hemicellulytic rumen bacterium (B. proteoclasticus) and a methanogenic achaea (M. ruminantium) Microscopic examination had previously shown B. proteoclasticus in co-cu...
